Unlike the hands on work which happens in person and is focused on the individual requiring the work, the online coaching is very much focused on the caregiver/parent.
The session happens through Zoom and the practitioner observes the way you as a caregiver/parent interact with the individual requiring the work.
The practitioner focuses on the caregiver’s interaction by drawing their attention to the 9 Essentials and how they can practically implement them in their daily life activities with the adult/child they look after.
The practitioner observes for example, how the caregiver moves and handles the adult or child and may recommend that they move slower, with more attention to what is being done. The practitioner may also look at how the caregiver interacts both verbally and nonverbally in their day-to-day activities and make this more purposeful.
It’s important to note that the practitioner is not teaching the caregiver the hands-on work as this requires the training program, but is however teaching a greater understanding of how the essentials can be implemented.
We have discovered that the online coaching is an instrumental tool to help caregivers supercharge the work that happens before or after a hands-on lesson as the interaction of the caregiver becomes that much richer and really complements and can improve the outcomes.
The coaching has also proved very beneficial as a way to access the work for parents/caregivers that cannot currently travel or do not have a practitioner close by
How many lessons should I book?
To optimise learning and provide the chance for greater breakthroughs and transformations, it is recommended to have a condensed block of lessons which we refer to as intensives. We take the lead from Anat’s ABMNM Centre in San Rafael where they recommend 4 lessons over a 7-day period. This, we acknowledge, is not always possible for various reasons and so we can scale back from that optimal to find something that works for each family.
